This also explains why they want to move away from physical media for video games, but it’s clearly the decision of a poor competitor, the move of a total loser.
They are essentially admitting that they are incapable of creating a product attractive enough, one that, combined with their brand, could generate a healthy profit. So, here they go, changing their strategy simply because they don’t want to compete… it’s just pathetic.
The Blu-ray patents expire in 2029; from that point on, anyone will be able to manufacture discs without depending on them and that, it seems, really bothers them… +3
