Instant noodles were considered a major emergency ration for regions isolated by high water since they can be eaten raw or with warm water when rice becomes difficult to store and cook due to electricity and gas shortages. Even when life has been good and I hardly eat noodles anymore these days I will forever be grateful to Mr. Ando for this wondrous invention. +5

One of my favorite things as a kid to have. Growing up in a lower middle class Hispanic family with parents always working, they had to make every dollar count when it came to food and it was very easy to get boxes of cup noodles for very cheap. Easy little snack/meal for the boys that didn’t require any cooking, just dump the water in and 3 mins in the microwave. Even after all these years, I still quite love instant noodles and enjoy them for either lunch at work or something quick to have at home
